Black background in the login box
I had this issue where the login box was black and you couldn’t see what you were typing. This was because the Font and the login box color were set to black. This happened to me when I ran out of drive space on the system drive.
To resolve this I had to go to another computer and do a registry dump of the:
[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Colors] key. After carefully logging onto the problem server, run the registry key. The colors on the login screen should be restored now.
Veritas Netbackup on Windows
I have an issue where Netbackup is not expiring tapes per the settings I have. So every now and then I have to manually expire the tapes. To do this you need to go to the command line and enter the following:
“c:\program files\veritas\netbackup\bin\admincmd\bpexpdate.exe -d 0 -m (tape number)
