Yep I had to stop being a stubborn arse and go see the doctor today. Good news is that it didn’t seem like any ligaments or tendons were completely torn but the doc wants to x-ray my ankle to make sure there are no fractures. We’ll have to wait and see at least Teal can stop beating me with the iron skillet, but I’m sure I’ll give her another reason to.

Other news is the in-laws came down for the holiday weekend. It’s always great to see them especially my mother-in-law who battle cancer and seems to be doing very well. And don’t worry papa, I know what I’m doing with the wood floors. I don’t need to pull the base boards, I’m going to put quarter-round down to close the gap between the wood and the base boards.

Kids are almost out of school, I’ve seen a major improvement in both of them. If you told me 4 years ago that public school is better than private school I would have laughed in your face, however after what we’ve been through, we’ve discovered that public schools here in Florida are actually better than most private schools. In private schools they worked mostly on memorizing bible verses and writing, and they seriously lacked in math and reading. This was the same with most that I started inquiring about and I’ve heard this same complaint from a number of parents. I’m glad we made the decision to move them however the decision was based on the driving distance than anything else.

The pitaBoy who struggled in reading comprehension for a couple of years was in danger of not graduating to the 4th grade however he passed his FCAT and has shown major improvements. We are so proud of him and he’ll be moving on up.

The pitaGirl however continues to struggle in math which for some reason women tend to struggle in. I really wish I could find a way to help her but I have no patience to tutor her so I’m going to look into Sylvan to see if they can help her over the summer and give her a head start for next year. She continues to make improvements but she needs a bit of a push to get her really going.

That’s all the news in our boring life for now…
